As the US prepared to vote in crucial mid-term elections, political journalist Andrew Neil goes on a whistle-stop tour of the country to find out what is behind it and why it is spreading like wildfire. The Tea Party wants to change America - but their first target is the Republican Party. Urged on by the likes of Fox News' most prominent host, Glenn Beck, and the Tea Party darling Sarah Palin, they are trying to replace established Republican politicians with Tea Party candidates. But as Andrew Neil discovers, their real target is the man in the White House. They believe Obama is an out-and-out socialist and the Federal Government well on the way to what they see as tyranny. In association with the British Paralympic Association, this feature-length special has been produced to launch two years of Paralympics programming on Channel 4 in the run up to the Games in 2012.  Airing two-years to the day before the Paralympics begin, our 90-minute documentary focuses on five paralympian sports and representatives from these sports. The in-depth profiles explore the worlds of some incredible Paralympics sports and examine the athletes' talents from personal and scientific perspectives.  The film is directed by Mike Christie, who brought 'Parkour' free-running to the nation's attention in the globally acclaimed ‘Jump London’.

A documentary which will be part of a season on education to be broadcast on the BBC this Autumn. It is about a group of parents, led by the journalist Toby Young, who want to set up The West London Free School in Acton. The programme will follow the story of these parents as they try to set up a new parent promoted secondary school in the area.

A deeply revealing film about religion and politics in contemporary Russia.

Former Secretary of Defense, Michael Portillo examines the difficulties faced by President Obama in trying to close the controversial detention facilities at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Over a year, the film documented the prison camps at Guantanamo, and travelled to Yemen, Bermuda and Washington to investigate what could be done with the 240 remaining prisoners. Some of them are thought to be too dangerous to release, but impossible to successfully prosecute in a Court of Law.

Felix Mendelssohn was a passionate Christian.  He was also born a Jew.  This film, marking the 200th anniversary of his birth, tells the extraordinary story of what happened, generations later, both to Mendelssohn’s family, and to his music, when the Nazi’s remembered the Jewish roots of Germany’s most celebrated composer.   And it examines how the influences of both Judaism and Christianity affected Mendelssohn’s music.  It is made by documentary-maker Sheila Hayman, Mendelssohn’s great, great, great, great niece.
